Study Assignment 1 : Profiling
This is an individual assignment.
A representative from your class has been chosen to give a welcoming speech to
guests at your university. Your speech will be presented at a dinner given by
your university for these visitors. The dinner will be attended by the visiting
lecturers and students from Malaysia, Indonesia, Brunei and Thailand. You have
been elected into the committee whose task is to prepare for the dinner to
welcome these guests. Your task is to prepare for the speech by profiling,
· The audience : your audience will be made up of
o The guests – 10 lecturers and students from each of the countries
involved.
o The home crown – academicians, administrators and student
representatives from your institutions.
· The setting
o The dinner should be held in a hall at your institution.
· The logistics.
Your task is to prepare a profile report to help your committee prepare the
speeches and scripts for the dinner.
