للتمييز بين كلمة make و كلمة do
فكثيرا من الأوقات نحتار في أي الكلمتين نتستخدم في كتابتنا خاصة أنه ليس هناك قاعدة تحدد استخدامهما
There is no specific rule to follow when talking about these two words make and do
But you can make use of the hints that will follow
Do
We always use do to describe indefinite activities, often with what, thing, anything, nothing, etc
كثيرا ما نستخدم كلمة do لوصف أعمال غير محدد عادة مع كلمة ماذا
(what are you doing - ماذا تفعل) شيء ما، أي شيء، لا شيء
and generally speaking we also use do to talk about duties, jobs or leisure activities
عامة نستخدم do للحديث عن المهمات او الواجبات، الأعمال أو أنشطة وقت الفراغ
Do means to perform
تذكر دائما أن do تعني يفعل أو يؤدي
Here are some examples
do research =================== يقوم ببحث
do nothing ================== لا يعمل شيئا
do a favour ================== يصنع معروفا
do well ================= يفعل حسنا
do effort ================ يبذل مجهودا
do a job ================= يقوم بعمل
do homework =============== يكتب واجب (فرض)
do the best ======== يفعل الأفضل (اقصى ما بوسعه)

We tend to use make when we are talking about constructing, creating or performing something
نستعمل make عادة للحديث عن بناء أو عمل أو أداء شيء ما
Make means create something that didn't exist
make تعني خلق شيءعمل شيء لم يكن موجودا

Somebody, someone, anybody, anyone etc
body or –one?
There is no difference between somebody or someone , anybody or anyone , nobody or no one
everybody or everyone .
The forms with – body are very informal.
Some- and any-
The differences between somebody and anybody, something and anything, somewhere and anywhere are the same as the differences between some and any .
The forms with some- are more common in affirmative clauses.
The forms with any- are more common in negative and interrogative clauses
.
Did anybody come? (NOT Did somebody come?)
There is something under the bed. (NOT There is anything under the bed.)
I don’t want to buy anything too expensive

Singular verbs
Everybody , anybody , somebody etc are usually used with singular verbs
.
Everybody needs to be loved. (NOT Everybody need to be loved.)
Somebody has let the cat in. (NOT Somebody have let the cat in.)
Somebody and some people
Somebody refers to only one person.
When the reference is to more than one person, we use some people
.
There is somebody at the door. (One person)
There are some people at the door. (More than one person)
Pronouns referring back to somebody, anybody etc
The pronouns they , them and their are often used with a singular meaning to refer back to somebody, anybody etc.
‘There is somebody at the door.’ ‘Tell them I am busy.’
(More natural than ‘Tell him / her I am busy.’)
Anyone and any one; everyone and every one
Anyone means anybody .
Any one means ‘any single person or thing’.
There is a similar difference between everyone and every one

Well and Good
Well and good can have similar meanings
Well is an adverb, while good is an adjective.
The adverb Well is used to modify verbs, whereas the adjective good is used
to modify nouns
.
She writes well . ( Here the adverb well modifies the verb writes
She is a good writer. ( Here the adjective good modifies the noun writer
She teaches well . ( NOT She teaches good
She is a good teacher. ( NOT She is a well teacher
I like her. She is good . ( NOT She is well .
He speaks English well . ( NOT He speaks English good .
Her English is good . ( NOT Her English is wel l
She speaks good English. ( NOT She speaks well English
Notes
The sentence ‘She speaks well English’ is not correct, because adverbs cannot
usually go between a verb and its object.
Well = in good health
There is also an adjective well , meaning ‘in good health’.
‘How are you?’ ‘Quite well , thanks.’
I am not feeling very well .
The adjective well is only used to talk about health
She is always well when she lives in the mountains.
(Here we are talking about her state of health.
She is always happy when she is with him. (NOT She is always well
Though well is an adjective, it is not normally used before a noun. We can, for example, say ‘She is well’, but we do not normally say ‘She is a well girl

Neither, Nor and Neither…nor
Neither means ‘not one and not the other of two’. It is used before a singular noun.
Neither statement is true.
Neither of
Before a pronoun or a noun with a determiner (e.g. the, my, this etc.)
we use neither of .
I like neither of them . (NOT I like neither them.) (NOT I like neither of they.)
Neither of my parents lives with me.
After neither of we use a plural noun or pronoun. The verb following neither of is
singular in a formal style. It can be plural in an informal style.
Neither of my daughters speaks English. (Formal
Neither of my daughters speak English. (Informal)
Neither and nor
As adverbs neither and nor mean ‘also not’. They come at the beginning of a clause and are followed by inverted word order.
I don’t like modern art. Neither do I . (NOT I also don’t.) (NOT Neither I do.)
Peter didn’t come, and neither did Sam . (NOT … and Sam didn’t too.)
(NOT …and neither Sam did.)
I don’t like it, neither does she .
Not either has the same meaning as neither . It is used with normal word order.
I don’t like modern art. I don’t either .
I don’t like it. She doesn’t either .
Neither…nor
The correlative conjunction neither…nor is used to join two negative ideas.
He neither knows nor cares what happened.
Neither you nor I could have done this.
When neither … nor connects singular subjects, the verb is usually singular, but it can be plural in an informal style.
Neither Alice nor Mary sings well. (Normal)
Neither Alice nor Mary sing well. (Less careful )
