Why Does America Hate Us?
It may be that a few years from now, when we look back at the September 11 attack on the United States, we will view it as the beginning of the end of Islamic radical fundamentalism, just as the 1967 Arab-Israeli war heralded the end of Nasserism and Arab nationalism. The reason for fundamentalism’s coming demise is what secular Arabs have been saying for years: Radical Islam has no social program for Arab or Muslim societies. All it can offer is death, destruction and revenge, none of which qualifies as a platform on which to build a future. The secular Arab view was long muffled by the din of the Muslim Brotherhood slogan “Islam Is the Solution.” The mother of all radical Muslim movements, the Brotherhood reigned supreme after 1967 on the otherwise politically vacuous Arab and Muslim landscape – until that fateful day of 9/11. When the World Trade Center came down, the proponents of civil society in every Arab country took center stage.
I don’t believe there has ever been a time when Muslim preachers have been under more pressure and scrutiny than they are now. Every day, liberal pundits demand in the press and on independent Arab satellite stations that they explain, defend and justify their militant messages of the past.
Osama Bin Laden’s epic act of terror may have put radical Islam on the road to ruin. But it has not yet put other Muslims on the road to salvation. That depends on the West working closely with Arab civil societies – something that has yet to occur.
The question now is whether the Western secular establishment will step in to help, instead of closing the doors to the very elements in Arab and Muslim societies that are natural allies. So far the answer is no.

Hello there
well in my opinion the west (not all ) hate us before that
they hate us long long time ago
some of them rised up with the idea that Muslims are bad people these goup divided into 2 , one been affected blindly , and the other group ignor it until they had a bad experience with som e muslims so the no more iqnore the idea, and start 2 believe it as a prove
Also, some believe somehow that thier religion couldn't give them happiness and muslim people (not all) used to fingered them as madness people following a wrong religion and unforetunately not respect the freedom of ethnic, and as a nature of human being they hate us as a result.
.
while the foundation reason i think is religous affairs and our history and early Civilization.i meant here is the religous people of the west had put the idea of the bad ness of Muslim people to the nation long long time ago and the idea been transfered from generation to another.
11Sept. was only a way to show this hateness in public (i mean, they have a reason why they hate us).
well, we mde them hate us that way, by our behaviour and style of thinking. if we just have patience and a healthy thinking we could make the world on our side,
we should try to stop blaming others while we gave them the chance, we should blame ourselves and follow what Islam teach us and follow our prophet way with the use of tecnologies and any thing that cope with todays generation's style of thinking.
well that's only opinion
thank you
