At the age of 5, Malika Oufkir, eldest daughter of General Oufkir, was adopted by King Muhammad V of Morocco and sent to live in the palace as part of the royal court. There she led a life of unimaginable privilege and luxury alongside the king's own daughter. King Hassan II ascended the throne following Muhammad V's death, and in 1972 General Oufkir was found guilty of treason after staging a coup against the new regime, and was summarily executed. Immediately afterward, Malika, her mother, and her five siblings were arrested and imprisoned, despite having no prior knowledge of the coup attempt.
They were first held in an abandoned fort, where they ate moderately well and were allowed to keep some of their fine clothing and books. Conditions steadily deteriorated, and the family was eventually transferred to a remote desert prison, where they suffered a decade of solitary confinement, torture, starvation, and the complete absence of sunlight. Oufkir's horrifying descriptions of the conditions are mesmerizing, particularly when contrasted with her earlier life in the royal court, and many graphic images will long haunt readers. Finally, teetering on the edge of madness and aware that they had been left to die, Oufkir and her siblings managed to tunnel out using their bare hands and teaspoons, only to be caught days later. Her account of their final flight to freedom makes for breathtaking reading. Stolen Lives is a remarkable book of unfathomable deprivation and the power of the human will to survive.
هذا الكتاب اختاروه من ضمن الكتب في نادي اوبرا للكتب .. كتاب خطير ويعور القلب وممتع في نفس الوقت قصه حقيقيه عن حياة مليكه او فقير بنت الجنرال او فقير كان يشتغل في منصب قيادي مع الملك المغرب وبنته عاشت في القصر الملكي مع بنات الملك تحكي في بداية الكتاب عن طفولتها وبداية الشباب بين قصر الملك وبيت والدها ابوها حاول يعمل عملية اغتيال للملك الحسن الثاني نتيجة هذي المحاوله انهم اعدموه بالرصاص و اخذوا عائلته المكونه من امها ومليكه واخوها عبداللطيف واختها مريم و ماريا وسكينه وعبدالرؤوف و اثنين من الخدم راحوا معاهم تضامن وانسجنوا في الصحراء في سجن تحت الارض لمدة 20 سنه منعوهم من التعليم اكثر شي اثر فيني وانا اقرا الكتاب اول ما نفذوا عمليه الهرب حفروا نفق تحت الارض طلعهم للشارع كان اخوهم عبدالرؤف صغير لما اعتقلوهم وعاش عمره كله في السجن لما وصلوا للشارع هو كان يمشي قدامهم ويقولهم ايش يشوف لما وصل عتد اسفلت الشارع ما عرف ان هذا اسفلت وقالهم وصلت لارض صلبه تخيلوا الموقف بعدها راحوا السفاره الفرنسيه وسافروا لفرنسا ومن هناك جابوا العفو لبقية العيله وكتبت الكتاب تحكي فيها تجربتها قبل السجن وخلال السجن لحد ما هربوا الكتاب من كثر ما يجنن قعدت عليه وخلصته في 3 ساعات ما قدرت افكه بجد انصحكم فيه ..

الكاتبه سوفيا كنسيلا تتميز كتابتها بخفة الدم والسلاسه يعني تحسي ان صاحبتك اللي دمها خفيف تحكيلك قصه .. الكتاب عن وحده تكون في الطياره وتجلس جمب شخص تحكيله اسرار من وجهة نظرها ان كل شخص عنده اسرار مو لازم تكون اسرار كبيره مثلا السمكه الذهبيه اللي في بيتهم مو نفسها السمكه اللي ابوها وامها طلبوا منها تعتني فيها لما سافروا في رحله لمصر ( سمكة ابوها وامها ماتت وهي استبدلتها ) وكلام كثير من نوعية هذي الاسرار اللي تخلي الشخص يحس انها انسانه غير مسؤله واسرار اكثر في الوقت نفسه ايش يحصل لما تكتشف ان الشخص اللي حكتله هو نفسه مدير الشركه اللي هي تشتغل فيها مارح اكملكم اخيكم تستمتعوا في القصه لانها روعه ..
