Regarding your question, I beleive that you can't correct every single error the student makes as it'll disappoint him/her
You can just say (YES) saying the same sentence the student's just said but correctly
But never let him/her feels it was A BIG ERROR
Let me give an example to illustrate this, please
If the teacher asked ( Why was the little baby crying?) and the sudent answerd ( Because He hungry) then the teacher must say
Excellent!
and repeat the answer correctly stressing on the word missing
Because he WAS hungry
